The Urly Show #23 - 2009 Urlies and Poll Update

Well, we started this week's Urly Show off with great expectations to deliver you what the week had to offer in Internet and like we usually do, got super excited about the freshly posted 2009 Urlies and wouldn't talk about anything else. That's just how we do! But if you're looking for a hilarious intro to this year's awards, a bit about the process and some commentary on some tight races currently happening in the polls, you've got the right show.

Sorry it's been a while since our last Urly Show, we're still trying to figure out the best way to give our listeners (and those who hopefully will tune in!) what they want to hear.

So, what do you want to hear? Take a listen and leave us some feedback below.

Just Like Scarlet, 'Dog Show' Host Takes a Tumble (Video)

Although our headline gives it away (SPOILER ALERT), you've probably already come across this seemingly normal video of a girl setting up for a stuffed animal dog show that quickly escalates into something... more dangerous?

This is totally a Scarlet Takes a Tumble fall, so we know she'll be OK and will certainly live to finish that dog show. DOG SHOW!

Little Shrunken Head Sings the Blues

Picture it: your grandpa undergoes an entire body wax, works out hardcore, and paints his ears the color of his STUNNING crystal-blue eyes. Then he gets turned into a terrifying Shrek-like animation of himself and starts singing a silly "blues" song in front of the same audience that shells out millions to see Jeff Foxworthy perform jokes about, like, farmers farting or something.

Take it away, Golem! Little Shrunken Head Guy? [LANGUAGE NSFW]

Tillman the Skateboarding Dog Enters the Virtual World

With Tony Hawk's 'Ride' out this week (it comes with a virtual skateboard), it was only a matter of time before Tillman the Skateboarding Bulldog (or another bulldog on his Youtube account -- I think Tillman is sitting off to the side watching) hopped on the board and entered the virtual world of gaming. Watch as he kicks, slobbers and sits his way to a high score.

Avril Lavigne 'Girlfriend' - #59 - The 100 Most Iconic Internet Videos

Pop-punk songstress Avril Lavigne's anthem to girlfriend-hating and man-stealing holds the top spot on YouTube for the most viewed video of all time, but it didn't get there truly organically. Avril's die-hard fans at AvrilBandAids.com were the first to successfully game YouTube view counts in a massive way by using a complex scheme to cheat the system by opening browsers that refreshed every 15 seconds to repeatedly play the video. They then used the publicity from their cheating scheme to push the clip over the top virally. Well played, mall punks.

Urlesque unveiled the 100 Most Iconic Internet Videos -- the most popular and memorable viral videos in the history of the web. Since there's a lot to sift through, we'll occasionally feature an individual video from the countdown.
